On 27/5/2015, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology has held a seminar on "Promoting the University – Industry – Government Linkage" with the participation of representatives from Enterprises partners and from Board of Rectors, Faculties, as well as Offices of the University.
The purpose of the seminar was to create a forum for HCMUT and partners to share and exchange information, experiences (advantages, difficulties, challenges) in the relationship between U – I -G. This is also a valuable chance for all related sides to listen to each other’s needs and wishes, as well as to propose a development strategy for a sustainable collaboration of all sides.
In opening the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong - Vice Rector has warmly welcomed all the representatives from enterprises, while emphasized the importance of this trilateral cooperation. He also wished that the conference would be a great success.
The program was continuing by the presentations revolved around the theme raised, started by Dr. Vo Dai Nhat – Vice Director of External Relations Office with the topic “Current Situation and Development Strategies of strengthening University – Industry – Government Linkage”. In his presentation, Dr. Nhat talked about the difficulties, challenges encountered related to this issue, and also propose his solution to overcome those difficulties.
The next presenter is Mr. Brian O'Reilly - President of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam - Director of SEA Management Consulting Company with "Promoting the University – Industry – Government Linkage. An Industry Perspective.". He focused on the importance of this cooperation in influencing the development of national economy, the skills that business employers expected from students.
The seminar also welcomed presentation from Dr. Nguyen Huy Hoang – CEO of Talent Mind Education Company with "Solutions contribute to improve the quality of human resources". According to Dr. Hoang, the improvement of students quality requires close cooperation between universities and businesses. Last presentation is Mr. Vo Quang Hue – Managing Director of BOSCH Vietnam Co., Ltd. with some viewpoints related to how to improve workforce quality and productivity.
After the seminar has finished, all representatives also have a panel discussion around the topic. They are encouraged to raise questions as well as to express their points of views.
This is an event that marked the development of cooperative relationships between the University and Enterprises, promising good results.
